I am alive... exhausted, but alive, and coming to you from Alaska!
I've actually been here for 7 days now but the past 7 days have been like a series of unfortunate/terrible/doomed events.
To avoid dwelling on all of the things that did go wrong in the past week, I say I just praise God it is a new week and share with you the GREAT things that have happened in the last 7 days here!
Alaska is still as beautiful as ever, nothing about that has changed. My dad is here with me visiting/helping for the next week and a half and we have been having a good time doing some sight seeing!
It took us 5 days, but we finally had our first wildlife sighting of the trip. For a while my dad was beginning to think that Alaskan Moose were just a myth (;
I'M MOVING (obviously)... but I found a house!!! Every/any unfortunate event that has happened in the past week has had to do with trying to find somewhere to live. Long story short, on Thursday just 2 hours before I had to accept or deny base housing, I found the most perfect condo in a suburb of Anchorage: Eagle River. Deposit was made that day, and we move in this Wednesday! Don't worry, you all will get plenty of pictures of the place.. but after my husband gets home to see it with his own eyes first!
The downtown Anchorage market is one of my favorite places to go in the summer. And of course all of the vendor food isn't a downside at all. Yeah, I'm a sucker for Gyro's!
Overall, the past week has been exhausting and it's pointless to even go into details but I will say I am so glad it is Monday! Although our new condo will be perfect, it still has a lot of work to be done within the next 2 days prior to move-in! We will be spending a lot of time un-doing some damage the previous tenets did, but that's okay with me! I am so excited to have our first space, that is big enough for the two of us, all our stuff and little Gizmo! All of the stress will pay off here shortly... I just know it! For now, its back to work for me! Stay tuned for updates! (:

I left a comment earlier but I'm not sure what happened to it :( What I had said was that I worked at the fruit stand in the second to last picture. Easily one of my favorite jobs ever. The owner is awesome and eating fruit all day wasn't too bad either :) The Saturday/Sunday market is definitely one of my favorite things about Anchorage
