Wedding Wednesday

Oh July... I welcome you with arms wide open!
I am thrilled to begin a month long series to not only hilight some awesome sponsors, but to also share their wedding stories or wedding inspiration!

At the end of July you get to look forward to a week dedicated to all the details of my wedding which happened July 29th, 2011!

Can't wait to hear about what you all think of this series!

First up is
Ashlee from Beauty She finds

1. What is your wedding date?
We were married on August 8, 2009

2. How did he propose?
He actually proposed to me on TV. He had won a contest for a local news station. There was a hidden camera set up in my apartment and everything. I had no idea!

3. Were you a DIY bride, or did you purchase most items for your wedding?
I made just about everything, and what I purchased I purchased on sale.

4. Did your wedding have a theme?
Our theme was chocolate!

5. What was your favorite wedding moment?
My favorite wedding moment was when the doors opened and I began walking down the aisle. It was the first time he saw me that day and I will never forget the look on his face--there are no words!

Courtney from Life Well Expected

1. What is your dream wedding location?
Somewhere outside for sure

2. Describe your perfect wedding dress.
I want a dress with pockets because I think that is so cute. Also an empire waist because that flatters my body type, as well as a sweetheart neckline. I also love the back on these two dresses

I would totally love to be non-traditional also and wear something like this

3. Big Ceremony/Reception or Small, and why?
Small...I don't have a big family at all so I don't know where I would come up with enough people to have a big ceremony/reception, haha. Plus, I would rather have it small so it's an intimate setting.

4. Perfect wedding color scheme?
Oh man...I'm really liking grey and yellow lately but that could change by the time I get married, who knows?! Haha, these pictures are some inspiration for what I would plan if I was getting married right now.

5. Share one photo that you would consider wedding inspiration.
Oops, I already shared a ton! Okay, well I guess if I had to pick a photo that would be overall inspiration, it would be this :

I love the lights in the trees, the flowers lining the rows, the fact that it's outside and that it looks simple yet elegant.

2. How did he propose?

A little backstory... we like to say Atlanta is where it all began for us. We were friends in high school, but were never really close until the two of us (with my brother and his friend in tow) made a trip to Atlanta (5 hrs both ways) for a Braves game. You get to know someone really quick being in the car together for that long! Through that trip our friendship grew and a few months later we started dating. Going to Braves games kind of become "our thing". On October 3, 2010, we took another trip to Atlanta. The game itself was a big game. It was the last regular season game at Turner Field and the Braves were vying for a playoff spot. RC and I had become such regulars and I'm such a picture-lover that we had our "picture" spot. So, we headed over to take our usual picture. Little did I know what RC had up his sleeve. On that day he proposed I was the happiest girl in the world. Or so I thought...

To make that day even sweeter, RC and my best friend planned a surprise engagement party for when we got back from Atlanta. When we got back to my apartment all of our friends were there and even my parents made the trip up to Clemson! My mom played it off so well when I called her with the news from Atlanta. I had NO IDEA my parents were in the car on the way up to Clemson. :)

3. Were you a DIY bride, or did you purchase most items for your wedding?

I was not really a DIY bride. I was in school full time, working, and planning a wedding in another city 3+ hours away. The details of our wedding were not overwhelming important to me, marrying RC was. :) I still had fun picking things out and knew what I wanted, but most of it was online shopping.

4. Did your wedding have a theme?

I won't really say it had a "theme". We just tried to make it the most like "us" as possible and we really wanted our friends to have a good time. We were married in the church he attended, had our reception on Shem Creek at an outdoor venue on the water, and feed our hungry family & friends good ol' Southern comfort food.

5. What was your favorite wedding moment?

That's a tough question to pick one moment out of the entire day. After we walked out of the chapel as husband and wife they "hid" us in the bridal room while family & friends left the chapel. For the first time that day it was just us. It was a nice moment for us to soak in the fact that we did it! We were married.

  4. Kudos to the couples who bravely shared their most favorite wedding moments. :) Some couples keep it a secret, but not for them. I think it would be good if you add the question, "What are your dream wedding cars?” That would be a good question to answer, especially for their husbands. :)

  5. Aside from “you may kiss the bride” part (haha!), I think the greatest moment for me was when I saw my wife getting out of the limo in her beautiful wedding dress. That was really the time that I thought that I’m going to marry the woman I love, well, for real! :) Congrats to this lovely couple. I wish them a happy marriage!
