After my husband left, I was feeling horrible about myself and I was truly lacking the motivation to go to the gym; let alone get off the couch.
However, life has to go on and so do my fitness goals, so I decided to try something I had been curious about for a very long time.
Being a future fitness professional, I never "take someones word" when it comes to workout programs, vitamins, diets etc. etc. Results are subjective to the person and everyone is different , so, although I have never been fond of following a 30, 60 or 90 day workout dvd, I decided that I can't knock Insanity until I've tried it!
Also, it should be made clear that I am not in any way affiliated with Beachbody! I'm just a future personal trainer that wants to see what all the hype is about.
So I decided to write this post after I had completed week 1. Well here I am, and I can honestly say, Insanity is insane... but I love it! Here's why I love it, compared to other workout programs I have tried (which is a lot):
- Insanity Requires no extra equipment
- Insanity focuses on lots of cardio, as well as muscle sculpting
- You never do the same workout 2 days in a row
- Every 2 weeks you do a 'fit-test' to see how much progress you are making
After 5 days I already feel like each workout is getting easier and easier. Along with doing Insanity 6 out of 7 days a week, I am also running 4-5 days a week, and doing weight training 2 days a week.
So far so good, and I am looking forward to sharing my results at the 30 day mark, as well as the 60 day mark!

Dang girl, Insanity and running and weight training...you are crazy! Haha but I suppose that's why you look so good!!
ReplyDeleteI know you're not doing this to lose weight... but Beachbody has a really good supplement that has helped me a lot. It's called Shakeology. I got my husband drinking it too, and he's lost 10 pounds but just replacing one meal with it! He and I are not in the shape to do Insanity yet (he has a medical condition and may never be able to do it, I on the other hand, just got lazy... LOL) but I AM working on Turbo Jam, which is another video offered by BeachBody. It's really fun. One of these days, I'll hopefully be back to running my 5 miles a day! Until then, it's just little steps to get the weight off and becoming healthier! :-)
ReplyDeleteGlad you posted about this - I've been curious! Maybe I'll have to give it a try once I finish the routine I'm doing now!
ReplyDeleteHave you rescheduled your ACE test?! I've been thinking about you :)
I've decided to go with NASM I think! I'm starting in August...eeek!
Happy Tuesday, girl!
xo
This sounds insane....ly fun! I need to get my butt back and shape and really want to try it! I can't wait to see your results.
ReplyDeleteI am a new reader, but I LOVE insanity!!! Great workout! I love that you don't need all the junk (weight bands etc) I got in great shape doing it!
