What an odd title to a blog post, you may be thinking... right?
Well it is kind of an 'odd' thing.
I'm sure you all know that I enjoy running. Scratch that: truth be told, I enjoy the feeling after finishing a run. The positive endorphins and the feeling of accomplishment. I, in no way shape or form enjoy the: getting my butt up off the couch part, or the gasping for air on the start of mile 2 part. Nope-- just the finish line.
Anyway-- I had been hearing lots of talk about fun things like The Color Run, and Mud Run's and Adventure Race's. They all sound like SO much fun. Sadly though none worked with my schedule... until alas! I came across the Warrior Dash!
Please watch this video before I even explain any further...
Yes friends, thats right, jumping over fire, climbing under barbed wire. This is my idea of a good time!
I CAN'T WAIT!!!
Ever done an adventure 5K or a Mud Run? Please share your stories! I can't wait to hear from someone who has done something like this.

haha wow, this is amazing! :)
ReplyDeleteWow that looks hard core! You'll rock it though :)
ReplyDeleteThe idea of doing something like that scares me to death. My friend wants me to do a dirty girl 5k with her next weekend. She said there are obstacles like every quarter mile or something. I'm just not fit for that. I am thinking about doing the Color Run in Indy this year... it's on my bday.
ReplyDeleteThis looks uh-mazing!! Even I wouldn't mind running in that kind of race! I need to check this out! So cool! Thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteI am so excited for you. I told you my husband and I ran the Survivor Mud Run two weeks ago and we are signing up for a Rock 'n' Run in a few weeks. You will absolutely love it. I will be posting about our run this week on my blog!
ReplyDeleteI am thinking I want to do this later in the year. Looks great?
ReplyDeleteYou're not crazy, this looks like such a fun adventure!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, I am not so much of a runner but I always love a challenge and this looks so amazing! I looked into it and now I am even thinking about signing up! Thanks for the inspiration :)
ReplyDeletePsh, yes, you are crazy. lol! Not as crazy as my husband though. He is wanting to do a 13.1 mile one of these. *aie aie aie* Definitely not my cup of tea. I did one 5k Mud Run a few summers ago. Yuk. I personally hated it. Haha, Brannon loved it though, and some of my really good friends have done the warrior dash!
ReplyDeleteJust be careful when you do it. :) Out of the three friends that did it, they all made it alive, but one sprained his ankle extremely bad... it was gross. lol!
BUT YOU CAN DO IT! YAY!!! :)) lol
This sounds great, but makes me tired just thinking about it! Enjoy, looking forward to hearing about it. Can I just say that you look amazing in your profile pic! XxxX http://thesecondhandrose.blogspot.co.uk/
ReplyDeleteHey Leigh Anne!! We had the warrior dash here two weekends ago. I am not an avid runner, but I do run occasionally at the gym on the treadmill. My friends and I decided to do this warrior dash. Let me tell you, we had a blast! It was so much fun. Now if you don't know Mississippi, it's a country state where lots of mud exists. So Just imagine what we went through. After all, We had a blast and finishing it was a major reward feeling moment! It was cold here that day though, so although they had a band and beer and turkey legs, we left because we didn't bring a change of clothes. That would be one tip.. Bring a change of clothes if you plan on hanging out!! Have fun!
ReplyDeleteHope you have so much fun!!
ReplyDeleteHere we have the Spartan Run and it seems like an awesome time- Something want to try sometime!!
Can't wait to read future blogs about this race!!
So fun!!
Happy Monday!
