Small Business Monday: Advocare

Anyone heard of Advocare ? Hmm.. well I have and I've tried it first hand. My husband and I did the 10 day cleanse and I dropped 5 lbs in the first 4 days!! Yeah it was awesome. But Advocare is so much more than cleanses and products for weight loss.

While in Alaska, I came in contact with Erin who actually sold me my 10 day cleanse several months ago and just last week I ordered Catalyst from her (expect a review here in the next few weeks). She has become a really awesome person in my life, and my go-to girl for just about anything.
So I asked her to share with you all a little bit about Advocare and why it is SO awesome!

My name is Erin and I am a health-aholic. Is that a legitimate sentence? I hope so, because even though, like everyone, I am not 100% healthy, I love to work towards a goal of getting that way.

When Leigh asked me if I wanted to do a guest post, I was so happy to do so! It was hard for me to settle on what exactly I wanted to write about, but ultimately the theme of my life of late is “health.” My journey to getting healthier really started about two years ago, when I was diagnosed with high blood pressure, documented on my blog www.ekatskitchen.com. I had to revisit a lot of what I knew about food, especially what was healthy vs what is marketed as healthy. (Hint: if a food “product” has to be marketed as healthy, it probably includes a whole lot of processing.)

Last May, following a series of moves and living on the road, I’d reached a new plateau and knew I needed to do something to regain my health momentum. A friend introduced me to AdvoCare, a health and wellness company, whose products are formulated by some of the best brains in nutritional and sports science. I started the 24 Day Challenge almost immediately after talking with her – a 10 day cleanse followed by a 14 day max phase. Just two days into my cleanse, I was in love with the products and decided that I wanted to help spread the word to the world about how amazing they are. The products do an amazing job of helping break through fitness plateaus by filling in the gaps in nutritional intake and retraining the brain to focus on food as fuel.

I’ve now completed three cleanses, gained an incredible amount of energy, and am down several sizes and inches.  I am completely refocused on being healthy, from my energy sources (both food and AdvoCare’s Spark energy drink), to drinking enough water (I target 100 oz of water a day), supplementing my food with proper vitamins (I use AdvoCare’s MNS Max vitamins), and getting plenty of exercise. I have a goal of 20-30 miles a week at the gym, and the energy to achieve it. Do I make mistakes, absolutely, but I’ve learned that it’s easier to recover from them if I make the right choice nine times out of 10, and don’t allow a decision that’s less good to derail me.

I can’t talk enough good about how AdvoCare has transformed my life and helped me to manage some of the challenges that I face thanks to genetics. Not looking to lose weight? AdvoCare actually has products for everyone – from weight loss of course, to athletic performance, to even general wellness and skin care.

I have a passion for health, and love to share my experiences with everyone who is interested – from healthy recipes at www.ekatskitchen.com to AdvoCare products to my fitness regimen.  Please feel free to check out my blog or email me erin@ekatskitchen.com.

  1. Way to go, Erin! I've fallen off the healthier habits wagon since the point in my pregnancy with #2 when I could no longer exercise. I am looking forward to refocusing back in that direction when she weans and is sleeping better. It's so much harder when you're sleep deprived and nursing a baby, even though that's probably a time you actually need to be healthier even more!
